Once described as “Your Favourite Skater’s Favourite Photographer”, Atiba Jefferson has done it all, from shooting countless Thrasher Mag covers, including Chris Joslin’s mind-blowing tre flip down El Toro, to workin   g with NBA superstars and even lending his eye to Happy Gilmore 2. His latest chapter sees him step in as Vans Brand Curator, and the two have come together to celebrate with a specially curated capsule. In it, Atiba remixes some of Vans Skate’s most iconic silhouettes through his own masterful lens. The Atiba x Vans United Through Skateboarding collection keeps skateboarding at its core, embodying Atiba’s mantra that skating fuels all his creative work.

This ethos allows the collection to push beyond skateboarding while staying true to its roots. The result is a curated capsule of skate footwear which blurs the lines between skate and street culture, elevated through a collaboration with legendary graffiti artist and longtime friend, HAZE. Each logo reworked by Eric Haze appear across the collection’s silhouettes: the Half Cab WAFFLECUP™, the Curren, and the Old Skool 36+.

The final silhouette in the United Through Skateboarding capsule is the Old Skool 36+ in Atiba Solar. A full eclipse of orange engulfs Atiba’s take on the 36+, itself a nod to the iconic Style 36, the first iteration of the Old Skool™. Blending skate heritage with contemporary tech, the 36+ is a nod to the mid-90s, with a shorter toe box, wider throat and larger tongue. Handpicked and curated by Atiba, the United Through Skateboarding capsule gives a versatility to these silhouettes, whilst paying homage to his crew and keeping skateboarding at the heart of every design.
