Buzzer Beaters and Back Lips, Triple-Doubles and Tre Flips; Nike SB take their legendary sneaker silhouette back to the court with a colourway inspired by Washington State’s bygone basketball team, the Seattle SuperSonics.

Founded in 1967, the SuperSonics electrified audiences in their trademark green, gold, and white attire for over 40 years, before financial reasoning forced a relocation and rebranding as the “Oklahoma City Thunder”. Until their departure from the Pacific Northwest in 2008, the SuperSonics had bounced between divisions, collecting 3 Western Conference titles and the illustrious NBA Championship in the process; despite unstable management upstairs, they currently rank 6^th in the all-time NBA win-loss record. Now the SuperSonics are a sleeping giant, shackled to their sister team in OKC, awaiting the next team to settle at Seattle’s KeyArena and adopt the Sonics mantle and their glorious green, gold, and white.

In the meantime, Nike SB ensure the SuperSonics’ legacy lives on with their latest colourway of the Dunk Low Pro Premium. Paying homage to the Sonics’ record-breaking 1995/96 season and a successful rebranding the same year that added regal rouge accents to their uniforms, the new shoe sports a complexion composed of Fire Red panels, tightly marked by deep, Fir Green layers; a cool white Swoosh intercepts the sidewalls, assisted by a University Gold stitched rim. Laid up in matte leather, the upper wears the aesthetic of a ‘90s hooping shoe but is tooled-up internally with familiar Nike SB upgrades for optimal performance, on board and on court.
