Proving tastefulness is timeless, the original six volumes that A Dictionary of Color Combinations collates was first published in the early 1930s and now Nike’s newest variants of the quintessential cupsole arrives, dressed in a delectable duo of complimentary colourways, as advised by Wada’s classic colour study.

This one, a “Mystic Red” rendition, marries a two-tone ruffled rouge suede upper with a swooping aqua swoosh for a sublime finish. The plush upper stands upon the plump plum rubber of the outsole, delicately finished with a subtle peppering effect. Behind the tongue you’ll find the most flagrant nod to Wada’s work, a small insertion suggesting the page that this specific palette can be found on, “194”. A Dictionary of Color Combinations lists these tones as “Light Brown Drab”, “Peach Red”, “Burnt Sienna”, and “Turqoise Green”, for your styling convenience.

Together they represent an incredibly tactile pairing, as supple to the touch as they are on the eye.
